Steel Arch Roof Covers
60'x80' Wide Span Container Roof

The Industrial complex of America have found great use of these Container Covers when executing and expanding it’s influence across the States. Budgetary and functionality are the two most important aspects when a company decides to buy. Is this building being purchased at a price that fits our needs? How can I use this building in more ways than one to get the best value out of it?

These Container Covers have been used in Mining Facilities, Concrete Businesses, Wineries, Salt Storage, County Highway facilities for sand and protective roadside equipment. They offer superior snow and wind ratings in even the most extreme weather conditions and can be assembled using a one size nut and bolt system.

Two 40' Containers- Side-by-Side

This customer chose to use two 40′ Containers on each side as the foundation of the building. Although not necessary, they sat the containers on a small concrete wall which helps with corrosion when specifically using salt storage.

The Container Roofs were assembled using our Quonset Hut Model spanning 60′ wide by 80′ long. This model offers the widest alternative to the others and proves to be the most cost-effective option we offer.

Because of the size of the vehicles and machines this company uses, they wanted to design a Roof Cover that would consist of a drive through. That way simultaneously work could be completed increasing the workflow of the property.

The Containers span about 8′ 6″ high with the added height of 20′ from the steel arches with a combined total of 28′ 6″ of clearance height. This is a great way to increase the head space compared to a traditional structure which would require a concrete wall or pad.

This is a perfect example of container roof trusses being used as an outside mount. The customer loved the idea of using this roofing system to cover his scissor lifts, ladders, and machinery. He wanted a low-cost solution to housing all of his companies assets in a dry location.

A front wall was purchased and cut at the factory to enclose the front side and provide coverage of the shipping containers. He decided to use our G-model to achieve this goal and although it is not shown in this photo, the customer eventually installed a 12′ high by 10′ wide roll-up garage door.

Curvco Steel Engineers in blueprint and preparation guided him through the erection process to make sure the container roof trusses were installed and attached the right way.

Many months later, they decided to purchase a P-model storage shed that sits alongside it. One of the deciding factors surrounding the repeat business was that when they needed us, we were there!

The Town of Brentwood Highway Department contracted with Curvco Steel Buildings to create a multi-purpose Shipping Container Roof Kit Shed for bulk storage. We assisted Brentwood with obtaining engineered stamped building permits which made the whole process much easier.

The site location is primarily used as a transfer station for scrap metal, C&D material, brush and bulky items. The Town of Brentwood required a 30′ wide by 40′ length structure with a steel canopy to protect any items that are disposed of or dropped off at this location.

Metal Roof Between Shipping COntainers
Claiborne Hauling LLC, 70'x120' Metal Roof Between Two Shipping Containers

Mr. Claiborne reached out to Curvco Steel Buildings to solve the problem of utilizing his workspace effectively. He knew that the metal roof between two shipping containers had to span at least 70′ wide in order to accomplish this goal.

With all the of the construction equipment and machinery stored outside, he knew it was time to search for a steel building solution. After intensive discussion with one of our building specialists he determined that putting this large structure on shipping containers would not only be cost effective but easier to manage based on his expertise.

Metal Roof Extension for Shipping Containers

After the building was delivered and the contents were erected on-site, he realized adding additional length was rather easy and manageable.

This must explain why Mr. Claiborne came back over and over again as he saw his vision become reality.

He was impressed by the amount of space he could use and the amount of money he saved by not using a traditional concrete pad with a steel building on it.

In order to save some money, Mr. Claiborne decided to pick up his metal roof between two shipping containers at the factory in Pennsylvania personally. He wanted to see where the steel was being manufactured and establish a relationship with our personnel so that in the future he could order more length from someone in the industry he trusted.

He returned to the factory  three separate times to pick-up additional length over the weekend for his roof when he had the time to install it.

With over 8,400 sq feet of interior space, everything in his arsenal would now be able to fit with extra room to spare.

He decided to leave the front side open so that he could move his equipment in and out with no problems and kept the backside solid.

He currently stores his dump trucks, back hoes, bulldozers, bobcats, towing rigs and other equipment necessary for his daily operations.

Bella Tires 51'x20' Container Cover Equipment Storage

Mr. Nicololff contacted us in early May to discuss his storage needs for his tire business. It was important for him to have easy access to his supplies and equipment while maintaining a shaded area to protect his tires from the sun.

Car tires may appear to be weatherproof and withstand rough conditions but they can actually be vulnerable to continuous exposure to the heat of the Florida sun. The website Popular Mechanics cited the sun to be the number one reason for tires to fail and deteriorate.

Storing his un-used tires underneath our Container Covers proved to be the most practical solution to his problem. After speaking to a building specialist, Mr. Nicololff decided to build his Container Cover 51′ Wide to accommodate his stock-pile of tires and house his equipment he uses to support his daily operations.

Mr. Nicololff determined these structures were cost effective due to the fact that the containers themselves were being used as the foundation in comparison to pouring concrete. Curvco supplied him with metal plates which connect to the shipping container for easy installation.

Using only one size nut & bolts, the steel arches connect to the plates with ease.

He also was intrigued by the buildings ability to be disassembled and moved to a different location on his property if need be.

As his business continues to grow he will require more room for coverage.

The best part is he can simply add two more containers and increase the number of steel arches to occupy those dimensions. Adding length to any of our styles is easy to do!

Overall, Mr. Nicololff was impressed by the knowledge our building specialist was able to bestow on him about how versatile our Container Kits are using his 30 years of experience working in the steel building industry.

Curvco’s shipping container roof systems are the best on the market and require little to no upkeep or maintenance which allows the business owner to concentrate on what’s important.
